Gill – Marketing and Administration Manager
Hi, I have been at Moy Vets since November 2005 and live locally. I moved to the area many years ago and opened a restaurant, I absolutely love the area!!! I then moved away to the Lake District where I lived for eight years working as a Buyer in an independant supermarket in Keswick. I moved back to this area in 2000 and I work in the office doing all manner of Administration and keeping the website and Facebook up to date.
Out of work my hobbies are walking the dog, swimming, cycling, watercolour painting and riding my motorbike.I recently started running and did a Triathlon for The Brain Tumour Trust – Mark Lingard Fund. I am hoping to do more Triathlons by extending my hobbies to open water swimming.
I have a chocolate Labrador called Ted who comes to the office with me everyday and a cat called Jim who is a keen mouser!!
Emma Atwell – Reception Team Leader
Hi I’m Emma, I have been working for Moy Vets since 2008 on and off! I have three children and I have been working part time to allow me to care for them. I originally started working at our Thornton Branch where my twin sister Paula works as a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. This used to be confusing to clients!. I then left to have my third child but came back again to Thornton to help with covering some maternity leave. I realised how much I enjoyed the job again and asked Michelle if there was a permanent position going. There was a part time position at the Out Rawcliffe Branch, and that is how I came to work here! I have since progressed to more hours and taken on the Reception Team Leader Role which is giving me lots to think about and get my teeth stuck into. My team and colleagues are all wonderful and both sites and we all get on extremely well.
Kim Prescott – Receptionist
Hi My name is Kim. I’ve been working at Moy Vets since March 2015 and I am really enjoying my role as a Receptionist. It is great to be part of wonderful team, who are amazing with all of our animal clients. No two days are the same, and greeting and meeting all creatures great and small is the best bit of all.
I live locally in Catterall, Garstang, having moved back to the area in 2010 after living and working abroad for approx 10 years. When I left the UK for The Netherlands, I took along, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 5 birds, which was an experience in itself, and after five years living in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, I moved everyone across to Bologna in Italy. Ten years later, I returned from Italy with one of my original dogs, Kasper, and a new addition to the family, a black Phalene – Volpino Italiano (Italian Fox) called Kelsina. Kasper is no longer with me, but I still have Kelsina and another addition to the family, a gorgeous, but cheeky Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Ruby.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two sons and new granddaughter, who was born August 2016, Andrew, my eldest son, who still lives in The Netherlands, along with my granddaughter Evelyn, and Stephen, who lives in Cumbria. When not at work, I am busy, gardening, walking my dogs, reading, cross-stitching and I am an avid puzzler.
Jayne McClelland – Receptionist
Hello I’m Jayne I’ve been working at Moy Vets since November 2014 and thoroughly enjoy my role as a Receptionist and being part of a great team caring for your pets, every day is different from welcoming your new additions to the family, and being busy with phone in one hand and gravy bones in the other!
My hobbies are Yoga and reading (when I get chance!)
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 2 very active sons Caleb and Cameron, we have a Chocolate Birman cat called Jasper and a Horsfield Tortoise called Iggy.
Look forward to seeing you soon and meeting your adorable pets.
Debbie Chappell – Receptionist
Hi, I’m Debbie. I’m new to the Moy Vets team, but so far enjoying every minute – no two days are the same!. This is a very new role for me, having previously worked as an Account Manager and Media Consultant for ten years in an advertising agency in Manchester and later as a Teaching Assistant in a school. I am married with 3 children (2 boys, Sam who’s 10, Ben who’s 3 and a girl, Megan, who is 7 going on 17). They like to keep me on my toes, so there is never a dull moment in my house. I also have a dog, Murphy who is a big bundle of fluff. He is a cuddly and noisy Newfoundland cross who’s very good at sitting on our feet in the winter to keep us warm!
Gaynor Broad – Administrator/Receptionist
Hi I’m Gaynor and brand new to the business having just started in 10.07.17. I come from an administration back ground and I am just finding my feet with the new systems etc but loving it. No two days are ever the same! Everyone is lovely, colleagues, clients and pets alike.
I live in Nateby and have two children, a daughter and a son and we also have 5 wonderful grandchildren which take up most of our spare time.
Mercedes Powell – Receptionist
Hey, I’m Mercedes, I’ve working at Moy Vets since September 2018 and I work at both Hambleton and Thornton clinics. I have a background in conservation and have worked for both the RSPB and Whale and Dolphon Conservation (WDC) previously as well as on whale watching boats when living in Canada.
My first passion is animals and nature, so I adore meeting all of your pets every day, but a close second is my love for films. My hobbies vary from regular cinema trips (I am a member at Odeon) to long walks in the countryside with my family and dog, as well as Paddle boarding and Snowboarding, and of course travel.
I am enjoying being part of a very lovely and welcoming team here at Moy and I am learning lots! I look forward to cuddles with your pet.
